As the Lunar New Year is approaching, in order to let stduents know more about the traditional festivals and feel the atmosphere of the festival, our school specially invited Ms Ng to tell the New Year stories and make a mini lion dance. Students enjoyed to make cute little lion dances.
To tie in with our teaching theme for Upper Class, our school organized a barbecue activity for the children. Led by teachers, the children were able to experience the barbecue activity, which enriched their life experiences. Through the activity, they learned about different types of food and the precautions to take when barbecuing, such as maintaining a safe distance from the fire, being aware of hygiene, and being careful with hot food. Each child enjoyed the fun of barbecuing in a joyful atmosphere.
To tie in with our teaching theme for Nursery Class, our school organized a visiting activity at “SOWGOOD Positive Education Centre”. Led by teachers, children are allowed to step out of the classroom and learn about positive education, which includes the growth mindset affecting a person’s development and the concepts of ten core positive character strengths. Through ploughing, sowing, bush clearing and experiential activities,children experienced art creation, music creation, body expression and explorative activities, they discovered and explored their core character skills.
In order to share the happiness of the festive season while sharing messages of the birth of Jesus Christ, our teachers will lead students of Upper Classes to the public location for a Christmas Carol event. We hope to create a joyful atmosphere among children, and at the same time bring about joy and blessings around the community.
Parents and children created a mini Christmas tree together, which not only unleashed infinite creativity but also enhanced parent-child communication and interaction. It allowed them to experience the joyful atmosphere of the festival together and left beautiful memories.
In line with the teaching theme "My
Family", our school organized a Parent-child “Emotions Face Mask” Design
Competition for Lower Class students. During the process, parents and children
worked together to create playful masks. The activity helps children develop
their creativity, allows them to incorporate their imagination into their
works, and also enhances the relationships between children and parents.
From ancient times to the present, people
have loved exercising. Sports bring us joy and a healthy body. Through the
theme of 'Healthy Living,' the teacher increases children’s understanding of
ancient Chinese sports by allowing them to explore and experience the games of 「捶丸」 and 「木射」, while also learning about traditional
Chinese culture.
Objectives
The interaction between the juggles and the children was very entertaining and fun. The children were very focused and engaged throughout and expressed their desire to perform juggling. The atmosphere was very engaging for the children who could experience the Chinese culture in the performing art.
Activity Description
Chinese juggling is one of the traditional Chinese performing arts. The school invites juggling performers to provide interesting explanations and interactive sharing in a dramatic style. During the process, children are invited to experience juggling activities. This can deepen children's respect and understanding and inherit Chinese culture.
Objectives
To learn how to make flour dolls and to appreciate traditional Chinese folk art.
Activity Description
To tie in with the theme, the school
invited a professional instructor to introduce flour dolls as one of the
traditional Chinese arts, briefly describing its history and background, and
using flour as the main material. The instructor also explain how to make flour
dolls, using different colours of dough and different techniques, such as
kneading, pressing, rolling and cutting, to create colourful artworks.
The theme of this year's National Day is "Love our Country, Love Hong Kong, Love our
Community" One of
the activities was a national flag-raising ceremony at the school to celebrate
the 75th anniversary of the founding of the country. Teachers will introduce
information related to "National Day" to children. The activities can
effectively enhance children's respect for the country and cultivate their
identity as a national.
The theme of the birthday
party is "The Magic Fairies". Dressed up as charming little
magicians, all children enjoyed playing wonderful magical games and performing
magic together with their classmates. They all immersed themselves in a world of
ever-changing magic, and felt really great when experiencing the magic mystery.
The 59th Cannan Kindergarten Joint School Graduation Ceremony 2024 ended successfully. Upper Class students who had been fully engaged in performance rehearsals gave their fantastic performances on the day and they all received warm applause from the audience. Here we would like to congratulate all the graduates on their successful performances, giving everyone a great time and an enjoyable good show.
The school attaches great
importance to home-school collaboration. Recognizing that parents of Lower
Class students may have concerns about how to choose a primary school for their
children, we have invited Mr. Leung Wing Lok, an expert in further studies and
education to hold a parenting seminar of “Interview Guide for Selecting Direct Subsidy
Scheme Primary Schools or Private Primary Schools”. The seminar was very informative and it helped parents
better understand school selection strategies. It is hoped that the seminar
will assist parents in choosing the right school that best suits their children.
To complement the play-based
school curriculum, our school held a Fun Play Day where children were able to freely
participate in play activities in the school lobby. They were excited to use the
various materials and instruments to design their games or create artwork
according to their preferences. The activity fully demonstrated the spirit of self-directed
exploration and we are happy that our children can learn and grow through play.
Children were provided with an opportunity
to learn about the habitat of fireflies and to observe these uncommon amphibian
species more closely. They were all excited about fireflies. The activity deepened
their understanding of different living things and increased their awareness of
conserving nature and the environment.
